The Finance and Treasury Board's Office of the Chief Information Officer has a career opportunity for a Senior Privacy Analyst to join our dynamic, progressive team of professionals in an environment in which employees can learn, grow, create, and support innovative strategies to help the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) deliver on transformational business objectives.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer, the Senior Privacy Analyst will assist the Information Access and Privacy Unit (â??Unitâ?) in providing strategy, policy, leadership, expert advice, guidance, tools and training on information privacy (â??privacyâ?) to GNB and other public entities governed by the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (â??RTIPPAâ?).
The responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
- assuming the role of the Privacy Officer for the Department of Finance & Treasury Board, leading the development and execution of the departmental privacy management program.
- managing privacy breach response, including containment, risk evaluation and notification, and recommendations for prevention
- assisting the development, implementation and monitoring of privacy policies, directives, standards, guidelines, processes, practices, and tools for both the department and to support the government privacy management program
- working with government departments to implement, assess, improve, and monitor their privacy management programs and compliance with corporate (government) privacy policies
- conducting privacy impact assessments on IT systems, programs, services, activities, and new initiatives, providing risk mitigation strategies, and implementing risk mitigation plans
- providing expert advice and guidance to public bodies on privacy matters
- providing privacy expertise for information systems planning projects and procurement of information technology, including the review of agreements
- assisting the development and implementation of a privacy training and awareness program for public bodies, including government departments
- monitoring developments in technology, (e.g. cloud or mobile computing) and trends in information privacy, regulatory requirements, and compliance enforcement and bringing expertise to ensure RTIPPA, privacy policies, directives, standards guidelines, processes, practices and tools meet the requirements of the new environments, and
- performing other duties as assigned.
â??Must Haveâ? QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must possess:
- A university degree in the Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- A Certified Information Privacy Professional or Certified International Access and Privacy Professional designation, or willingness to obtain certification
- Four years experience working directly with privacy legislation, such as the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RTIPPA), including experience understanding, analyzing and interpreting privacy legislation
- Minimum of two years experience conducting privacy impact assessments. and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Experience developing and delivering training programs
- Experience in legal analysis or possessing a Law Degree
- Demonstrated experience with privacy matters relating to the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RTIPPA) and the Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act (PHIPAA).

Salary: $75,478.00 to $100,412.00 annually.
