The Bragg Group of Companies is a diverse international corporate group with its head office in Oxford, Nova Scotia, operating primarily in Canada and the United States. The Group has over 6,000 employees in diverse industries including telecommunications, food manufacturing and agriculture, aviation services, real estate, renewable power production and portfolio investment. We are seeking a tax professional to join our corporate tax team and be responsible for managing the tax function for the entire Group. As part of this team, you will report to the Senior Manager of Finance & Taxation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage income taxation across the Group, including Canadian tax compliance, installments, research, and audit coordination.
  • Work directly with our accounting teams in preparing annual tax provisions, and cash tax forecasts.
  • Collaborate with our operational teams in transaction reviews and contribute to other planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A CPA designation, along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in corporate tax.
  • Enrolled in or completed the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course or equivalent.
  • Exposure to US corporate and cross border tax issues would be an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and a hands-on approach
  • Advanced computer literacy and skills, with proficiency in Tax Prep software.
  • Energy with a keen interest in learning about our businesses.
  • Take charge attitude with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proactive towards emerging business issues, using collaborative approaches.
  • Ability to thoughtfully research tax issues and communicate results with advisors and management.
