Municipal Enforcement Officer

The Town of Carbonear is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and experienced individual with impeccable character and integrity to fill the position of Municipal Enforcement Officer. This position is responsible for the enforcement of all municipal regulations and policies including animal control and will be expected to appear in court for violations of the regulations being enforced as required. This position also provides support to the Director of Operations and Public Works related to development control and OH&S and the Town Clerk related to the maintenance of the Municipal Assessment Roll. Other responsibilities will include monitoring security of Municipal buildings and events and completing inspections and other duties as assigned.

The candidate must be a high school graduate with good communication and computer skills and have a valid class 5 driver's license. Preferably, the candidate would be a graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in the fields of policing, law enforcement or criminology and/or have considerable experience in a related field. Experience in a municipal environment would also be an asset. All employees of the town are required to provide a Criminal Records/Vulnerable Sector.
