Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Technician and/or Property Manager, Property Attendants are the face of Build Nova Scotia on the ground, working to enhance our property and, at times, marina presentation and cleanliness, assisting with special events, providing information to visitors, and other duties as may be required. Ultimately, Property Attendants work to ensure all visitors enjoy a world-class experience each time they visit. No doubt it's hard work, but who doesn't love working next to the water's edge?
This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of the Halifax waterfront, and other properties as may be necessary, and to ensure key infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards. As front-line staff representing Build Nova Scotia, this position requires individuals with excellent customer service skills and an engaging personality. While this position is part of a small team that requires a high degree of cooperation with other staff members, once trained, they are often working independently. It also entails various tasks supporting marina operations, events and other functions of the waterfront.
Property Presentation & Cleanliness Duties:
Property Attendants are primarily responsible for the collection of litter and debris as well as the servicing and maintenance of waste receptacles along the Halifax waterfront, and potentially other Build Nova Scotia properties such as the Bedford and Dartmouth walking trails and Peggy's Cove. Some Property Attendants will be engaged in landscaping, grass cutting, and possibly painting, minor maintenance, pressuring washing, and a range of other duties. Property Attendants will report any potential maintenance or safety issues to the waterfront's maintenance team. The successful applicants must be prepared to provide direct support and assistance to Build Nova Scotia Marina Attendants and Waterfront Ambassadors as may be necessary to support day-to-day operations. After all, we're one team with a common vision.
