Training, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

TYPE: Temporary Full Time (1950 hrs.) Indefinite (Average 75.0 hours/pay period)

The Meadows is a 105-bed Long Term Care home located in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia whose mission is "Enriching lives every day."

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Under the direction of the Community and Clinical Leads while working under the Mission Vision, Values Standards, Policies, Procedures and Philosophy of Care, the primary purpose of this position is to support the department managers in people services by handling various HR-related responsibilities mainly involving, recruitment, orientation, training, retention, and onboarding. This role is vital in ensuring we have the right people with the right skills working for us. As with every role, the underlying responsibility is the care and well-being of each Resident

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO HAVE:

  • Must Relate well to those who live and work in our home with a compassionate, caring, respectful attitude with a strong customer service/stakeholder mindset
  • Post-secondary education degree, diploma, in business, HR, Adult Education, Administration, IT, Training, or equivalent relevant/recent experience.
  • Certificate or courses in Public Speaking, Training, Presentations or Toastmasters
  • 3 years of recent experience in coordinating HR programs or projects
  • Experience presenting to groups and individuals.
  • Knowledge of best practices in equity/diversity/inclusion and international recruitment
  • Experience with traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency and tech-savvy including knowledge of AI and data analysis LMS functions, video conferencing, content creation, survey tools, and eLearning authoring tools.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Initiative, discretion. judgment and professionalism of a high order and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Reliable and willing to work flexible hours.
  • Strong time management and effective organizational skills, lateral thinker, works well under pressure and achieves work deadlines in an environment of competing priorities.
  • Knowledge and broad understanding of office protocols in a business work environment.

  • Can work autonomously, effectively managing workload without continual guidance.
