We are currently looking for a Full Time Environmental Services Worker to join our Halifax team!

Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager, Support Services, the Environmental Services Worker strives to ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and general repair of Northwood Bedford. Maintains and promotes adherence to safety procedures, participates in safety training and co-operates with any person involved in making the Northwood community a safe and healthy environment for staff, clients, residents, tenants and volunteers.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in the housekeeping field in a Long Term or Acute Care environment
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and follow through on specific instructions
• Able to lift, pull, push, and move heavy equipment and heavy furniture regularly
• Able to work well with others including co-workers, supervisors, and residents
• Must be able to work all shifts; days, evenings, nights, and on an on-call basis
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• WHMIS training is considered an asset
• Must be able to maintain regular and consistent attendance

Salary / Benefits: As per NSGEU Collective Agreement

Effective Date: February 7, 2025

Hours of Work: 80 Hours Biweekly (8 hour shifts)
