Purpose

The Assistant Manager provides and, if directed, leads a team of deal analysts in delivering quality administrative services to Corporate Clients for credit facilities generated by GBM and other BNS units. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of data, accounting reconciliation, and record-keeping for assigned deals, facilities, and loans. The Assistant Manager supports the team's business strategies and objectives, ensuring compliance with regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Foster a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships.
  • Manage a team of deal analysts and assist in the deal closing process when the Bank is an agent, direct lender, or participant lender.
  • Administer instructions by Agents on participations and customers on direct and agented deals, verifying limit availability, accuracy of calculations, and disbursement/application of funds.
  • Ensure adherence to terms and conditions of authorizations and loan documentation, including pricing, term, and limits.
  • Communicate effectively with various contacts, including other Banks, to resolve issues promptly.
  • Escalate policy and procedure exceptions to Manager/Senior Manager/Director for guidance and resolution.
  • Develop solid knowledge of loan platforms (Loan IQ) to ensure accurate posting of accounting entries.
  • Assist Manager, Senior Manager, and Director in team-related tasks, exception resolution, and special projects.
  • Monitor team productivity, staffing, and work volume, reporting to Manager/Senior Manager weekly.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team staff.
  • Consider the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
  • Ensure effective operations and adherence to business controls for operational, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risks.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in finance or business-related studies or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ACBS/ LoanIQ
  • Experience in corporate lending services
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
