What you will do

Reporting to the Manager of Guest Experience and Business Development, you will, among other things, be responsible to support the development of programming and events in our provincial parks. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new and supporting existing events and programming in provincial parks
  • Liaising with the park's staff and other THC branches to collaborate on events
  • Developing strategic partnerships related to events and programming
  • Building relationship with operators and communities
  • Working closely with destination development, Festivals and Events and sales to determine the trends and understand visitor needs
  • Maintaining a high level of expertise and knowledge of industry best practices and trends
  • Assisting in the preparation of briefing notes and working on projects as required
  • Other related duties as required

Work Environment

  • Primary office location: Marysville Place
  • Secondary office locations: Fundy Trail, Herring Cove, Hopewell Rocks, Mactaquac, Mount Carleton, Murray Beach, New River Beach, Parlee Beach, République and Sugarloaf
  • Office layout: Open offices
  • Your Team: Small head office team and park staff at the above parks
  • Committed to offering a work-life balance
  • Working on weekends/evenings when required
  • Travel throughout the province

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have

  • Post-Secondary diploma in one or more of the following fields of study: Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Event Management
  • Minimum of two years of related working experience
  • Thorough knowledge and experience working with various computer software programs (Excel Word, PowerPoint)
  • Project and/or event management experience
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in most weather conditions
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required

Wage

$2,183.00 to $3,053.00 bi-weekly (Pay Band 4)
