Demands, duties, qualifications Definition of work The Site Clinical Manager is the on-site manager responsible and accountable for the overall direction and coordination of clinical and human resource activities at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre, the Protective Care Residences, Western Long Term Care Home, and Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre during evenings, nights, statutory holidays, and weekends. He/she will manage patient flow, monitor appropriateness of admission and patient placement and coordinate human resource activities to ensure the appropriate resources are available to meet patient care requirements.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a nurse registered with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or possess a Bachelor's Degree from a Health Related discipline and able to register with their provincial regulatory body. Five (5) years' experience in the related field is also required. Previous management experience is considered an asset. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, critical thinking, effective problem solving, decision making, and communication skills.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor's Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
