Job Summary

The Biomedical Engineering Technologist II acts as the technical leader and supervisor within the Regional Biomedical department. This includes supervising other technologists, assigning the workflow and activities of all routine and specialized biomedical services, coordinating, directing and performing technical work in diagnosing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, repairing and/or replacing defective components in specialized medical equipment and systems, providing technical direction to clinical staff regarding the operation and maintenance of medical equipment, consulting with both internal and external clinical staff/specialties to assure that equipment is functioning properly and safely, and performing other relates duties as required.

Constantly lifting or moving objects less than 10 lbs and occasionally more than 50 lbs.
Manual or physical activities include fine finger or precision work, using hand tools, using gross motor skills to move heavy objects, operating equipment or machinery that requires very controlled movement and maintaining physical balance.
Occasional requirement to work in awkward or cramped environments.
Higher than normal levels of attentiveness or alertness for the health and safety of others.

Job Qualifications

Graduation from approved/recognized three-year Biomedical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology Program is required.

Minimum of three years of experience in servicing and supporting diagnostic, medical and surgical equipment and systems is required.

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritize.

Demonstrated problem solving skills.

A valid Class V Driver's License is required.

A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
