Specialist, Learning Planning & Design - Commercial Banking Strategy (12 month contract)

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Strategy, Performance and Client Value team in Canada by designing best in class learning assets and training content. Assists the broader Sales Effectiveness team with design consultation and brand consistency in order to maintain a high level of uniformity across content. Keep up to date with learning design principles in order to bring new and innovative ideas to the team. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities:

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Leads and/or supports the design, evolution and sustainment of learning collateral and resources across Canadian Business Banking by:

• Developing and/or advising on the overall framework and design of collateral and digital learning initiatives
• Uses experience and expertise to craft effective learning assets across multiple different technology platforms including but not limited to Vyond, Articulate 360, Adobe InDesign, SharePoint and Microsoft 365
• Has a deep understanding of usability and accessibility standards
• Creates and adheres to a maintenance schedule to keep owned/supported material up to date
• Conducts quality assurance assessments on digital learning experiences and provides trends and insights to Sr. Manager, Learning Planning and Director, Sales Effectiveness


Collaborates with team members and partners to assist with managing, planning and executing various learning initiatives and meetings by:

• Assisting with scheduling and event preparation where necessary
• Managing attendance and invite lists based on up to date CBB population data
• In collaboration with the Sales Effectiveness Business Planning department, creating communication collateral to support assigned learning initiatives and meetings
• Assist with maintaining and updating various training calendars and internal scheduling tools

Execute strong project management principles by:

• Creating, maintaining and ensuring the timely execution of work plans that identify key deliverables, milestones, owners, timelines, interdependencies, etc.
• Identifying potential challenges/issues that could delay the delivery of an initiatives and formulating alternatives to mitigate these challenges/issues; and escalating when necessary.
• Collaborating with Sales Effectiveness team members, partners and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are aligned to all Bank, Canadian Bank and Canadian Business Banking strategies/visions.


Tracks and reports on training activities to ensure program effectiveness; gathers and analyses data to identify opportunities to improve/enhance learning experiences.

Continually look for ways to increase professional network and development in order to proactively bring new ideas and insights to the Sales Effectiveness team.

Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

• Small to Medium initiatives which may span multiple Canadian Commercial Banking Business Lines and functional areas
• Regular collaboration with internal multiple partners on initiatives

Education / Experience / Other Information:

  • Post secondary education - University degree
  • 2 - 3 years of experience designing digital assets and activities to support adult learners
  • Graphic Design experience an asset
  • Adult Learning certification an asset
  • Experience with UX design across multiple platforms
  • Previous experience in a Learning Experience Design role preferred
