Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the FX Sales Group in Calgary ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Promotes a profitable trading and marketing business as well as further develop existing client relationships in order to achieve sustainable revenue growth while ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What You'll Do:
- Champion leading and driving a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Identify and develops business opportunities with clients, cross-selling existing relationships across other areas and product groups.
- Evaluate and analyze the hedging needs of Commercial and Corporate clients, including understanding the fundamental risk management priorities and product needs.
- Provides support functionality to the broader sales desk, including process improvement on functional tasks.
- Collect and prepare marketing material, pitchbooks and coordinating client events. Undertake other supporting functions as required.
- Analyze available client information and historical transactional data to identify opportunities
- Support the local DPG sales efforts as needed
- Production of adequate market color and trade ideas, in addition to creating linkages between our client base and the trading desk.
- Actively gain an understanding of FX markets through desk activities and client interactions, including in-person meetings
- Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
- Create an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principle, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:
- Undergraduate degree
- Understanding of FX market functioning and liquidity with some product knowledge
- Exceptional IT capabilities, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Understanding of the FX Global Code and policies specific to markets where we trade FX
Work Arrangement:
This position is currently an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work five days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
