WHO WE ARE:
The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour is seeking an individual to join the Working NB Branch as an Employment Counsellor within the Fredericton Region (Fredericton, Woodstock and Perth) in Fredericton.
THE POSITION:
As a member of the counselling team, the successful candidate will be responsible for determining and addressing clients' employment and training needs through existing employment programs and services. This will include client assessment and provision of employment counselling (Career Counselling, Job Search, Job Maintenance and Skill Development), determining client eligibility, developing action plans and ensuring follow-up, facilitating group presentations and training sessions, facilitating outreach sessions to labour market partners in the community and recording all relevant client information and action plan outcomes and results into a computerized system. Other duties will include providing information on available programs and services, referral to appropriate services and liaising with service providers.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree with major studies in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Family Studies, Criminology, Social Work or Social Sciences and have one (1) year experience in employment counselling. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Prior to appointment, the successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) reference check.

SALARY: From $2,713 to $3,327 bi-weekly.
