Position Overview:

The Saint John Police provides policing services to those who live, work, and visit the city, by engaging with the community, upholding the law, and preserving public safety. Our core values of leadership, accountability, professionalism, inclusiveness, integrity, and valour are illustrated daily by approximately two hundred employees.

We are seeking additional Auxiliary Members, both uniform and non-uniform, to volunteer their time to support community engagement initiatives. Uniformed Auxiliary Members would assist with law enforcement initiatives such as frontline police operation, traffic campaigns, search and rescue support, and large-scale evidence-based searchers. Non-uniform Auxiliary Members would assist with administrative engagement such as quality assurance call backs and tours of Peel Plaza.

The minimum requirements to become an Auxiliary Member include:

•Nineteen years of age
•Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
•Minimum completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent
•Active Class 5 driver's license
•Be of good moral character and habits
•No criminal convictions

Those who meet the above criteria may be invited to participate in our recruitment process. This process is designed to ensure that all selected volunteers are well-prepared and aligned with the mission, vision, and core values of the Saint John Police. We are requesting successful candidates participate in the program for a minimum period of two years and are dedicated to completing the minimum number of volunteer hours as required by the program.
