Who we are

We invite you to join the Parks NB team! You will have the opportunity to work at one of the most beautiful beaches in North America with the warmest salt water in Canada. Parlee Beach also holds international Blue Flag certification. The campground is located on well-developed grounds with over 210 sites.

What you will do

Reporting to the Park Manager at Parlee Beach Provincial Park, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervising, scheduling staff, and evaluating performance
  • Conducting surveillance patrols on the grounds (on foot, by car, and by bicycle) to protect against fire, theft, disturbances and vandalism
  • Assisting in resolving disciplinary problems
  • Maintaining logbook (rounds, vehicles)
  • Ensuring a safe visit for clients
  • Training staff on all required safety and operational procedures (firefighting, crowd control, emergency evacuation, first aid, emergency situations, etc.)
  • Locking gates, buildings, vehicles and set alarms
  • Transporting and depositing cash floats
  • Performing other related duties as required

Work Environment

  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays, shifts, additional and variable hours

Who you are

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Training in firefighting or first aid
  • Minimum of three (3) years related work experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required

Nice to have

  • Completion of a recognized Security training program
  • Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
  • Experience in a customer service environment

Wage

$25.44 per hour
