Interim Director - Community Economic Development (Duration: 18 months)
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the holder of this interim position acts as a strategic leader and facilitator in the field of community economic development. Their role is to foster collaborations between the business community and local, regional, provincial, and federal partners, while actively supporting entrepreneurs with their projects in Dieppe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Entrepreneur and Business Support
- Support entrepreneurs, businesses, and investors interested in establishing or expanding in Dieppe.
- Guide entrepreneurs, businesses, and investors to available resources, services, and support programs.
- Facilitate the processes of business start-up, growth, and economic diversification.
- Relations with Economic Partners
- Represent Expansion Dieppe and the City of Dieppe in strategic committees and partnerships such as the Southeast Labour Market Partnership and the Greater Moncton Local Immigration Partnership.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers and key stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Participate in targeted economic events at local, regional, provincial, and national levels to position Dieppe as a strategic economic destination.
- Management of Strategic Community Projects
- Support and/or manage strategic projects with significant economic and social impact.
- Liaise with the Board of Directors of the Centre de recherche et d'innovation Dieppe (CRID).
- Governance and Compliance
- Prepare and present cases and make recommendations to the Board of Directors of Expansion Dieppe and the municipal council of the City of Dieppe.
- Provide advice to various municipal services on files with economic impacts.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal economic development regulations.
- Other Responsibilities
- Contribute to other related tasks as required by organizational needs or the Executive Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
Bachelor's degree in administration, economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
- Experience
Eight (8) years experience in economic development, community development, or business development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.
- Knowledge
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal laws, regulations, and codes applicable to general government management and economic development.
- Knowledge of business management, particularly at the municipal level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
- Proficiency in both official languages, spoken and written.

WORK SCHEDULE
- Thirty-five (35) hours per week.
DURATION
- 18-month contract.
