In this role, you will :

Implementation and Transformation of Key Strategies in Alignment with Strategy 2030

  • Working collaboratively with the Chief Operations to implementation of service line review framework.
  • Support the development of account management for government relations.
  • Alignment of support services in terms of scope and scale to the resources of the Society.
  • Member of the Strategy 2030 working group, monitoring and reporting on strategy deliverables.

Financial Governance and Internal Control

  • Establish an effective working relationship with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Organizational Leadership Team (OLT), and the Board and its associated committees.
  • Provide staff support to Board Committees such as the Audit and Finance Committee.
  • Chief Audit Executive will have an administrative relationship with the Chief Financial Officer and act a key support role to ensure that the internal audit function supports the Society's key priorities.
  • Lead the assessment, monitoring and reporting of Enterprise Risks.
  • Lead the overall annual financial reporting including annual report, audited financial statements and T3010 filing.

Leadership of Finance, Accounting and Reporting

  • Work with the CEO and leadership team develop economic forecasting and modeling to help predict (given multiple scenarios) the best way to build the Society's capacity and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Identify and report on organizational efficiency and help develop and implement improvement strategies.
  • Initiate other activities which contribute to financial health, growth, and overall fulfillment of CRC's mission.
  • Lead Senior Director, Controllership in ensuring overall management of books of account, payments and receipts, accounts payable, accounts receivable and receipting processes and controls are effective.
  • Lead the budgeting processes, including providing recommendations to the CEO on short-term and long-term operating and capital investment strategy, resource allocation and financing for the organization.
  • Lead and support VP Finance in ensuring analyses of and reporting against budget is timely and effective cash flow and operating results forecasting processes are timely and effective data analytics of operations and support services revenues and expenses supports overall organizational strategies.
  • Assess the investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity capacities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the organization's capital investment plan and related financing structure .
  • Oversight of and monitoring of investment strategy for Legacy Fund and trust funds.
  • Treasury and working capital management.
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations and capital investment.
  • Oversight and monitoring of the investment performance of the Society's pension plan.

Strategic Leadership of Technology and Digital

  • Support and advise VP Technology in the delivery of objectives of the technology function including contributing to digital transformation of the organization.
  • Collaborate with VP Technology, Chief Operations and Chief of Philanthropy to set technology investment priorities.

Other Corporate Services

  • Leads and manages the Society's corporate/shared service departments ensuring service levels are meeting or exceeding the needs of the operations.
  • Collaborate with VP People Services and VP Communications (reporting to CEO) ensuring cohesive and integrated support services.
  • Work with and support VP Finance leading management of Facilities and Supply Chain Management.

What we are looking for :

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in senior executive roles in a services organization.
  • Formal Education and Certification: Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant designation; an MBA would an asset.
  • Fluency in French and English is preferable.
  • Experience leading Technology and Digital transformation strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in generating, assessing and analyzing options to support organizational growth and transformation.
  • Experience managing staff and developing talent to ensure efficiency of the team.
  • Experience leading organizational transformation projects.

Working Conditions :

  • May be required to work extended hours during peak workload periods to meet project deadlines or business requirements.
  • Travel is required.
