Our client, IFTL Chartered Professional Accountants (IFTL), focuses on assisting owner managed businesses make informed decisions, from business planning to corporate reorganizations they are there for their clients every step of the way. Their firm has been working with business owners in the Annapolis Valley and beyond for over 30 years. Their team of CPAs, technicians and administrative staff are rich in experience and collaborative in practice. They work with their clients, during the exciting start up phase; navigating the changing business environment through a company's growth to maturity; or assisting when it is time to wind down; they collaborate with their clients so they can focus on their business while IFTL provides support along the way.
Now, during a time of exciting growth for IFTL, we are pleased to be partnered with them to bring a Senior Manager to their team. The Senior Manager will be part of the management team ensuring client business needs and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, and a self-starter who is passionate about helping and guiding owner-managed businesses.
Responsibilities as Senior Manager will include:
- Building trust, and relationships with clients that last, so that you become their go-to business advisor.
- Effectively communicating responses to questions from clients in a timely manner.
- Overseeing junior staff and taking responsibility for project and task assignment and management.
- Providing training and assistance to technicians, CPA students, co-op students and others.
- Preparing and reviewing working paper files, corporate tax returns and financial statements with accuracy and proficiency.
- Performing research, developing and documenting business advisory and tax planning recommendations.
- Efficiently preparing and reviewing T1 individual tax returns and associated business activity schedules.
- Working with clients and senior staff to develop and implement business and tax planning assignments for clients
- Collaborating with other team members to provide the best solutions for clients.
- Demonstrating strong project management skills, inspiring teamwork and responsibility with other team members.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation.
- Post-secondary education with a focus in accounting.
- 5+ years of experience within a professional services firm with a focus on private enterprises.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Aptitude with computer applications, including experience with Excel, Sage (Simply), QuickBooks and Intuit Profile.
