The New Brunswick Housing Corporation (NBHC) is seeking an individual to join the Housing team as a Technical Services Manager in the Fredericton office

As a member of the New Brunswick Housing Corporation team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of staff as well as the management and delivery of technical services for the Housing portfolio, loan programs, and related budgets. The Manager provides technical expertise, support and direction for inspectors. Duties include assessing and resolving complex technical issues, preparation and review of contract documents, administration of Crown contracts, ensuring compliance to the technical guidelines of loans and other programs, related budget preparation and administration, personnel management and conflict resolution. Other responsibilities include providing technical expertise to non-profit housing groups within the region and liaison with local contractors, suppliers and tradespersons. The Manager must be proficient in technical report writing, as well as technical and general correspondence. Other duties may be assigned as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: University degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with three (3) years of related work experience in building construction including some supervisory experience, OR have a two (2) year diploma in Civil Engineering Technology program and five (5) years of related work experience in building construction including some supervisory experience. Civil Engineering Technology program graduates must be eligible for and maintain membership in the NB Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATION: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • 1 year or more of supervisory experience; and/or
  • Experience using the National Building Codes.
