JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, On Call, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: French essential and spoken English

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls all the activities of Nutrition and Food Services in the Beauséjour Zone to provide safe, quality food services to patients, health care workers, volunteers and visitors; establishes local and regional policies and procedures for department operations, including the following: menu planning; food preparation; meal distribution and service; budgeting; food purchasing; equipment and/or supplies; cleanliness standards; safety practices; human resources; and orientation and continuing education of the department's workforce. Ensures the department complies with legislation, accreditation standards and the Network's standards and policies. Actively participates in the dietetics internship program. Actively participates in regional initiatives involving delivery of nutrition and food services and/or the Network's strategic plan.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or equivalent obtained from a university recognized by the Dietitians of Canada;
  • Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Dietitians (NBAD);
  • Five years' relevant work experience;
  • Proven ability to manage staff;
  • Proven leadership skills;
  • Ability to set priorities and meet objectives;
  • Ability to manage numerous projects/tasks at the same time;
  • Proven skills in communication, interpersonal relationships and coaching;
  • Ability to motivate and engage people and to act as a change agent;
  • Proficiency with common computer tools (Microsoft 365, Meditech, Micro Gesta – an asset);
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
