Primary Accountabilities
- Receive materials and supplies for inventory by checking quantities of materials and supplies received against packing slips.
- Electronically receive goods in the system.
- Inspect goods received to ensure they are damage free.
- Issue materials from inventory for staff and contractors by filling orders for stock.
- Issue material work orders for stock issued and obtain signatures.
- Ensure that requisitions for items issued from stock are approved by appropriate staff.
- Ensure the safekeeping and security of duplicate keys and locks by issuing locks and keys to persons who only have proper authorization.
- Maintain various lock systems for all projects and prepare lock changes as requested by maintenance staff.
- Update electronic database with lock change information.
- Maintain up to date and accurate inventory by entering into the computer materials issued from requisitions.
- Print work orders to ensure items requisitioned match items listed.
- Perform spot checks on items and identifying items that require replenishment.
- Close work orders in a timely manner to facilitate inventory reconciliation.
- Answer inquiries from staff and contractors on the availability of inventory items; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 or high school equivalent, plus two years' experience in similar or related role that would allow for basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and hardware parts and a good knowledge of inventory procedures.
- Familiar with desktop applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail is required to maintain accurate inventory information system.
- Good clerical abilities.
- Excellent client service skills and client service oriented.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Interpersonal skills to deal with co-workers, clients, other departments, and the public in a positive, tactful, courteous and cooperative manner.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as in a team environment.
- Work cooperatively with others and display a positive attitude to further the goals of the organization; and
- Adaptable to change as the job requires and is receptive to new ideas and willing to try new methods and approaches.
Assets
- Possess current Emergency First Aid and WHMIS certifications.
- Knowledge of YARDI.

Salary Range: $21.77 - $24.80 Hourly
Work Week: 35 hours
