We are currently looking to fill current and future vacancies in the both the Mechanical and EI&C departments within the Maintenance team at the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station as a Maintenance Planner.
The Maintenance Planner is responsible to develop, maintain, and complete maintenance assessments for deficient, corrective, and preventative maintenance in the areas of mechanical or electrical/instrumentation. Further, the Planner provides technical support during the execution of all maintenance activities, as well as SAP and specialized field implementation training, to department and general contractor staff.
Key responsibilities include:
• Completing of planning support for mechanical or electrical maintenance activities. This includes planning of work packages as per station processes, procedures, codes, standards, and regulations to meet the work management planning milestones for running and outage work, ensuring safety, quality and reliability are considered for all planning.
• Providing technical support prior to and during maintenance activities. This includes participation in key stakeholders' meetings, providing solutions to maintenance challenges for running, outage and emergent work.
• Applying continuous improvement to planning processes by creating or updating procedures, SAP task lists or other station documentation to support planning and maintenance activities. Further, the Maintenance Planner is responsible to mentor or train other station staff in SAP planning activities as required.
Our ideal teammate for Maintenance Planner positions within the EI&C and Mechanical departments will have one of the following:
• Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification (CQ)
• Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification (CQ)
• Instrumentation and Control Technician (CQ)
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with experience in an industrial environment post graduation
Along with:
• Experience with a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as SAP would be considered an asset.
Preference will be given to those meeting the above qualifications and experience. Candidates possessing a Construction Electrician Certificate of Qualification obtained through an apprenticeship and two years of experience post-certification in an industrial setting may also be considered based on the competitive process.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
Due to security requirements at Canadian Nuclear facilities, the successful candidate will require a Site Access Security Clearance which includes verification of background information, references, a Criminal Record Name Check and a Canadian Security Intelligence Service security recommendation.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
