UNB's Centre for Learning Futures supports innovative teaching and learning approaches through its Teaching and Transformative Learning unit across all modes of program and course delivery. The Centre for Learning Futures supports a variety of learning opportunities ranging from online academic programs and courses across a variety of disciplines to executive education, professional development and personal development opportunities. The Office of Experiential Education also operates within the Learning Futures Umbrella.

Salary Range: $82,288 - $114,876 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Executive Director, UNB Online, the Director, Executive Education and Professional Development will be responsible for providing strategic Advice and direction for UNB Executive Education and Professional Development Programming across all learning and delivery modalities. The Director will be responsible for development and implementation of a strategic plan for the unit that supports the development and delivery of high-quality program, course and seminar/workshop activity and enhances UNB's professional reach locally, nationally, and globally.

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan focusing on sustainable, quality program growth to maintain and grow existing programming, develop new programming and evaluate program impact.
  • Work with the Executive Director to define and develop the long-term strategic goals for UNB's growth in the executive education and professional development learning market.
  • Align UNB Executive Education and Professional Development division with UNB's mission to exchange knowledge across generations, cultures, disciplines, and industries and the goals and objectives of the Centre for Learning Futures and UNB Online.
  • Provide leadership within the division regarding growth strategies, tactics, efficiency drivers and revenue generation from operations.
  • Serve as required as the Executive Education and Professional Development representative on various internal committees and advisory groups and on various external agencies and community entities.
  • Leads a team that develops and delivers non-credit programming, including professional development and executive education programming, pathways for micro credentialing and badging at UNB and compliance of diverse education products with UNB's non-credit governance process and regulations.
  • Organize a team that supports the experiences of students enrolled in UNB Executive Education and Professional Development programming, including centralized support for the duration of their learning journey.
  • Initiate and foster productive relationships and collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expand executive education and professional development programming to respond to emerging market needs.
  • Explore opportunities for program expansion that addresses the unique needs of UNB alumni.
  • Provide advice to the Executive Director of UNB Online regarding potential partners and clients.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and staffing plans to support the unit's activities and strategic goals.
  • Lead and manage annual plans for the business success of UNB Executive Education and Professional Development, ensuring profitable growth and program integrity.
  • Advance the mission and strategic objectives of UNB by developing new financially sustainable programming based on the needs of the community and market research.
  • Assess and make recommendations to the Executive Director using ROI evaluation based on a framework that includes appropriate cost allocation, revenue generation potential and overall impact within the context of overall financial targets.
  • Lead, mentor and support a diverse team of staff.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Masters Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in leadership, development and delivery of executive level education and professional development programming.
  • Senior academic and/or administrative leadership in a university environment or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with experience leading a diverse team.
  • Experience with successfully managing a complex budget with competing priorities, multiple cost centres and ROI targets.

  • Oral and written abilities to communicate effectively with excellent listening and perceptive capacities.
  • Proven leadership in professional working environments.
  • Professional sales experience would be considered an asset.
