We are adding a Community Recreation Coordinator to our growing team.

The Community Recreation Coordinator proposes, develops, and manages recreational activities that promote health and wellness for children, adults, families, and seniors in the Municipality of East Hants. Programs and events can include sports, fitness, arts, leisure, health, wellness, and social well-being.

What you can offer:

  • You have a post-secondary education in Recreation or a related field.
  • You have several years of experience in recreation, events, or a related field.
  • You have experience developing and managing programs or events for a variety of audiences, including children, adults, families, and seniors.
  • You have experience coaching, motivating, and leading recreational or events staff.
  • You are a champion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with skills to foster a welcoming and accessible environment for all staff and program attendees.
  • You have experience with MS Office Suite, and have a familiarity with program registration software.
  • Clear criminal record and child abuse registry checks.

Working Environment:

  • Flexibility in hours of work in order to attend meetings and events that could occur outside of normal office hours.
  • Programs will be delivered throughout the Municipality. Ability to travel to various locations in East Hants as needed for program development and support.

Annual Salary: $56,971 - $71,214
