Definition of work:
Central Health requires an Environmental Services Supervisor to be located at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre. Reporting directly to the Manager of Site Operations, the Manager will be accountable for providing leadership to staff for the daily operations of the Maintenance, Laundry, Housekeeping, Dietary services, and other programs as directed by the Manager for the Isles of Notre Dame Health Services area. The successful candidate will support a person and family centered care approach and will be a highly motivated individual, able to apply his/her creativity in assisting Regional Directors in leading staff and the daily operations of the four departments listed above. The successful candidate will be committed to safety and will partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.
Required Qualifications:
• Journeyperson Trade certificate or a diploma/undergraduate degree in health-related field.
• 3-5 years progressive management experience focused on project management and leading teams and services.
• Proven ability to supervise in a diverse environment focused on person and family centered care.
• Experience in Plant Maintenance, Environmental and Dietary Services in a health care setting; along with knowledge of emergency preparedness and infection control.
• Willing to complete additional in-house supervisory training in management as deemed appropriate.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and human relations skills are essential, as are analytical, conflict resolution and team building skills.
• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
• A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A Mechanical/Electrical or Architectural/Civil Engineering Technologist certificate and designation as a Certified Engineering Technologist.
• Completion of, or willingness to complete, a course in Food and Nutrition Management approved by Central Health.
