PAL Aerospace is a proud partner of Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada's Fixed Wing Search and Rescue aircraft replacement (FWSAR) program. PAL Aerospace is responsible for FWSAR In Service Support (ISS) ranging from working alongside DND at 1st line to performing at Depot level the maintenance not undertaken by Royal Canadian Air Force Squadrons. PAL's Depot level work also includes the embodiment of aircraft modifications and the conduct of Special Inspections.

This significant and exciting project will pave the way for innovation and opportunity within PAL Aerospace, while growing our operations.

In an effort to expand our current team, PAL Aerospace is currently looking for a Technical Material Specialist located in Ottawa, ON.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of a solid business model together with the different functions supporting the Customer mission (MOB and MRO)
  • Initial Parts List (IPL) and spares consumption monitoring -coordinating the demand and resupply of spares, inventory optimization as well as the enforcement of supply discipline. This includes Reorder Point (ROP) management
  • Support the pre- and post- maintenance event analysis for FWSAR, taking lessons learns for future fleet material demands
  • Optimize the list of material for each maintenance event
  • Support the preparation of the supplier forecast, considering the different triggers of the material demand for the next period
  • Support the material without demand out of stock policy (MTO) analysis of the root cause of the increases
  • Identifying the possible risks posed by non-compliance, reviewing statistical data with probabilistic background approach to solving problems
  • Proposal of corrective and preventive actions to reduce the MTO
  • Ensure timely delivery of solution of activities under the area accountability, and the associated reporting
  • Special focus on the common understanding on aircraft scheduled maintenance and Operational material requirements
  • Provide day-to-day support needed to assist FWSAR Material Co-ordination Centre (MCC) Technical Material Specialists (TMSs) and Warehouse Operators (WO) with tailored Material SAP
  • Ability to deep dive SAP to expose the facts for root cause analysis and be able to clearly present findings or recommendations to peers/management and TMSs.
  • Help create and deliver documentation formalizing SAP Training materials for TMMs, WOs and others
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in material management or inventory planning or equivalent relevant experience
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree or post secondary diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain or related discipline
  • Ability for dealing with large sets of data at an advanced level
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills
  • A strong level of operational knowledge of for Excel and database management
  • Experience working with SAP or SQL considered an asset
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity for planning and managing processes and persuading operational focus
  • Person focusses on targets, capacity for planning and managing processes
  • Experience in the aerospace industry or knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices is considered an asset
