The Investment Risk team is responsible for the production and analysis of Risk reports across all SGAM mandates including the support of channel partners across Global Wealth Management.
As the Senior Analyst, Investment Risk, you will be responsible for producing and interpreting risk reports from the Risk system and collaborating with our many service partners including data management, performance analytics and our external vendors.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of SGAM's risk reporting process on both a portfolio and enterprise wide basis
- Provide direct analytical support to the portfolio managers, product management teams and the COO covering the institutional as well as retail offering
- Monitor and investigate significant risk exposures and unusual trends; present and communicate analysis to senior management
- Contribute to the development of the team's data and reporting infrastructure
- Construct scenarios for portfolio stress testing and present analyses to senior management
- Monitor the risk of investment activities by employing a range of risk measurement statistics and tools including Bloomberg and MSCI Barra One
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Undergraduate degree in Business with a focus in Mathematics, Statistics or Finance
- Completion of the CFA program and/or other professional designations are an asset (i.e. MBA, FRM, CIPM)
- Experience with BarraOne or similar factor modeling tools would be an asset
- Proficiency in SQL or Python would be an asset
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the investment management industry
- In-depth understanding of risk management practices, investment theory and the portfolio management process
- Able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with minimal leadership oversight
- Self-starter, possess a high degree of initiative with ability to deliver results
- Attentive to detail and able to manage large amounts of data
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Team player who is open to evolving priorities and new challenges
