Purpose
Leads and oversees Customer Value Proposition for IB countries, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with the defined corporate strategy, governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:

  • Leads and drives a customer-focused culture throughout the Scotiabank footprint to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responsible for Mass Segments´ P&L, looking for a continuous improvement in product mix and the adequate productivity ratio. Participates in the business annual Strategic and Profit Plan for the vice-presidency.
  • Defines value offer and service models that allow execution on Scotiabank´s Mass Segment Profitability strategy, in accordance the defined blueprint incorporating the needs and behaviors of the different countries. Generation of segmentation criteria, and sales and service model, in coordination with each country and head office.
  • Strategy Coordination: Collaborate with regional teams to ensure alignment and understanding of the central strategies, adapting them to the local market nuances.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee the implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of strategies within the retail & small business secured lending products.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with central and local teams to allocate resources effectively, ensuring the successful execution of strategies.
  • To develop in conjunction with the product, digital banking, marketing and customer experience areas the characteristics of Scotiabank products, the appropriate operational flows and the corresponding communications, which allows generating an attractive value offer with a differentiating experience, becoming the clients' main bank and improving market share levels.
  • Develop a loyalty program within the value offer, across the segments and life cycle of customers, in order to increase customer acquisition, transactionality, retention and profitability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the region, ensuring effective communication and understanding of the central strategy.
  • Communicates and incorporates the relevant risk appetite statement and risk appetite measures, in alignment with the Bank's risk culture, into activities to:
    • Embed prudent risk taking into day-to-day management, planning and decision-making.
    • Implement controls and processes to effectively identify, report and monitor risk; and,
    • Ensure timely action is taken to effectively manage and mitigate risks, including prompt escalation of breaches of management limits or risk appetite measures as per established processes.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

What You'll Bring:

  • Master's in business / finance discipline or equivalent working experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience across retail financial products and at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced Communication and commercial skills with the ability to strategic thinking, customer and result focus.
  • Fluent English, Spanish is an asset.
  • Strong leadership skills, along with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Excellent understanding of Retail Business operational policies and procedures and strategic support areas to ensure the company complies and meets with strict regulatory standards and guidelines.
