Fredericton High School is a high school of approximately 2349 students from grades 9 to 12 located in the City of Fredericton, New Brunswick. The Principal will fulfill the â??Duties of Principalsâ? as per Section 28 of the New Brunswick Education Act. The Principal will also promote optimum learning for all students through instructional leadership, positive and orderly school climate, monitoring student progress, strategic planning, and effective communication with all stakeholders. In accordance with Article 47 of the Agreement Between Treasury Board and The New Brunswick Teachers' Federation, only teachers who have or have had a continuing contract with a School District in the Province of New Brunswick and who meet the required qualifications are eligible for appointment to positions of responsibility, except when no applications from teachers with such qualifications have been received. The basic criteria for appointment to positions of responsibility shall be educational qualifications, competence, efficiency, and suitability. In assessing candidates for a position of responsibility, the Employer shall give consideration to each of these criteria; when the educational qualifications, competence, efficiency, and suitability are relatively equal, preference for the position shall be given to the candidate who has a continuing contract.
Essential Qualifications:
â?¢ have or have had a continuing (B) contract in New Brunswick
â?¢ valid New Brunswick Principalâ??s Certificate or valid New Brunswick Interim Principalâ??s Certificate
â?¢ valid New Brunswick Teacherâ??s Certificate, preferably Certificate VI
â?¢ minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in the public school system
â?¢ written and spoken competence in English
â?¢ familiarity and competency with curriculum and programs for the respective grade level(s)
â?¢ familiarity and competency in school facility management and communications

Salary: In accordance with the Agreement Between Treasury Board and The New Brunswick Teachers' Federation with responsibility allowance based on a large school size.
