What you will do

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling the 8.6 kms of the Restigouche River the lodge uses, the property and buildings. The duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Patrolling grounds to protect against fire, theft and vandalism
  • Conducting patrols by canoe
  • Locking gates, buildings, vehicles, etc.
  • Monitoring visitors/clients for adherence to rules/policies
  • Ensuring the public's safety and protection of property in regard to wildlife
  • Performing other related tasks as required

Work Environment

  • Work in all types of terrain and weather conditions
  • Variable hours according to assigned schedule, including days, nights, weekends and additional hours when required

Who you are

You are someone who possesses knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures. You are an effective interactive communicator and have good teamwork and cooperation skills. You are flexible and client service orientation driven. You maintain self control and stamina.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required
  • Experience operating a motorized canoe and paddle in a river setting
  • Possession of a valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certificate
  • NB Pleasure Craft Operator License

Nice to have

  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • A valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training

Wage

$21.87 per hour
