Who we are

We invite you to join the Larry's Gulch team! We work in one of the most beautiful places that New Brunswick has to offer while providing meaningful and challenging work. Imagine being able to experience the beauty of the world-class Restigouche River every day!

What you will do

As a member of the Larry's Gulch team, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting clients in hooking a salmon
  • Assisting clients with their fishing equipment and offering advice on fly-fishing techniques
  • Transporting clients by canoe to the pools in a safe manner (motor and pole)
  • Providing an enriching experience to clients in both official languages
  • Cleaning canoes and shoreline regularly
  • Keeping the guide camp and fishing equipment clean and tidy
  • Performing general maintenance at the Lodge
  • Performing other related duties as required

Work Environment

  • Hours of work are 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day, with a break from Friday at 1:00 p.m. until Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

Who you are

We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a fly-fishing guide
  • Experience operating a motorized canoe in a river setting
  • Possession of a valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certificate
  • NB Professional Guide License 1
  • NB Pleasure Craft Operator License
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
  • Spoken competence in English and French is required

Note: Guides must provide the canoe (minimum 26 feet), motor, life jackets, seats, oars and safety equipment as required by Transport Canada regulations
Wage

$2,403.00 bi-weekly, based on a 60-hour work week

Canoe rental fee: $1,600.00 per month
