DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Corporate Functions Indigenous Peoples Internship Program is intended to recognize outstanding Canadian post-secondary students (both academically and with respect to extra-curricular and / or community service), who identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities) with world class early career experiences. This co-op/ intern role will include an opportunity to work in-person, virtually or hybrid, in one of the following corporate functions (pls indicate your top 3 preferences in your application):

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for building organizational capability in managing risk on a more integrated and comprehensive basis for the organization and for promoting a strong risk culture within TD. The team is accountable for the development and implementation of an enterprise risk management strategy, governance, policies and practices, reporting and operating frameworks, and operations associated with the Risk Management function.
TD applies the "Three Lines of Defence" model to risk management as defined in the Enterprise Risk Framework. As part of the second line of defence, the ERM team assures the appropriate design, implementation, and/or execution of (applicable components of) the TD risk management framework.
ERM collaborates with a broad network of business and risk management practitioners and other corporate functions in all jurisdictions where the Bank has business activities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
During the summer internship, the selected Co-op will work with their People Manager to create a development plan that aligns with their professional goals as it relates to enterprise-wide risk management. ERM will provide a holistic view of the diverse programs and initiatives in-flight and/or being developed. Mentioned below are some of the Tasks / Projects the Co-op will have exposure to during their time with the team:
Contribute to the quantification of a near term Strategic Risk that is performed as a part of the Bank's Stress Testing Program, under the Enterprise Business and Strategic Risk Scenario Analysis program.
Support risk monitoring and reporting activities for the Senior Executive Team, Risk Committee of the Board and Board of Directors via production of the Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk Dashboards.
Assist with the annual refresh of the Bank's Risk Appetite Statement.
Assist with Framework & Policy Governance and Risk Identification & Reporting.
Contribute to the oversight and governance of Basel Ongoing Compliance.
Assist with Enterprise Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting (RDARR) Governance.
Net new Ad-hoc projects / initiatives where the Analyst Co-op may be asked to lead the activity from start to completion.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term

A Candidate with strong attention to detail and an ability to manage competing priorities will excel in this role
Demonstrated ability to 'know your audience' and communicate (written and verbal) and interact effectively with stakeholders.
Ability to manage, influence and leverage a multitude of stakeholders concurrently.
High level of accountability and organizational skills, self-motivated, adept at managing change and priorities with an ability to work under tight deadlines.
Strong skillset of MS Office (outlook, excel, word).

Understand key business and strategic risks facing each of the bank's businesses

Continued to build out and mature key aspects of risk programs with a focus on sustainable improvement and creating efficiencies
