As an Internal Auditor at Assumption Life, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic audit plans, directly contributing to the organization's success. - Develop quarterly audit programs based on the established work plan and corporate risks.
- Execute audit procedures considering priority risks and set deadlines.
- Evaluate and classify identified weaknesses by level (high, medium, low).
- Propose and finalize recommendations to be issued and review them with the Chief Internal Auditor.
- Collaborate in negotiating and communicating recommendations with the managers of the audited activities to obtain their agreement and commitment.
- Draft audit reports for the Audit Committee and ensure that appropriate actions are planned following the recommendations.
- Responsible for the work file for external auditors (accounting firm) in their year-end audit mandate for the Company and its subsidiaries (annually).
- Comply with the quality standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the code of conduct for internal auditors.
- University degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in internal or external audit, compliance, regulation, or supervision.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry (considered an asset).
- Holding (or interest in pursuing) a professional designation in accounting or auditing (CPA, CIA, CISA) or other professional designations related to the insurance field would be considered an asset.
- Analytical skills, critical thinking, and strong attention to detail.
- Creativity and practical sense in developing solutions, as well as autonomy.
- Skills in organization, time management, planning, and problem-solving.
- Superior oral and written communication skills (French and English).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
