Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.

The Radio Communications Branch is responsible for the provision of Radio Communications and other advanced technological services for all government departments and agencies. The Branch provides contract management of the New Brunswick Trunked Mobile Radio (NBTMR) system, the provinceâ??s P25 Digital Public Safety Grade Radio System. The NBTMR provides mission critical services to various Provincial, Federal, and Municipal stakeholders.

What you will do?

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Radio Communications Branch in Moncton.

Reporting to the Client Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:

  • installing, maintaining and programming various types and categories of communications and related equipment throughout the province;
  • inspecting and maintaining the buildings, fences and grounds at government owned tower sites.

Work environment:

  • Office location: Moncton Area
  • Standard hours of work: Monday â?? Friday.
  • Operational requirements may also require working on weekends, and/or variable hours.
  • We promote a scent-reduced environment.
  • Frequent travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or GED.
  • The successful completion of an approved course in electronics technology with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the installation and maintenance of radio communications equipment.
  • You will be required to undergo a criminal record check.
  • Valid Class 5 driverâ??s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

SALARY:

$24.29 per hour, based on a 40-hour week.
