The Opportunity:

As Product Specialist, Wellness , you will be a key member of the product management team for group and individual business. Your focus will be on wellness benefits including solutions targeted toward health promotion, disease prevention and self-care. These benefits include our employee and family assistance program, medical second opinion offering and wellness portal. You will manage full product lifecycle activities and help build product roadmaps that are aligned with our broader strategic objectives .

In this role, you will work collaboratively with partners across the organization to optimize all aspects of the product experience including sales, marketing, admin, IT and UX. You will be the subject matter expert for your products and up to date on industry trends and the competitive landscape.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify and champion new product initiatives from ideation to implementation
  • Build and maintain product SharePoint pages, documentation and collateral throughout lifecycle
  • Monitor and share insight into industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Solve day-to-day product inquiries in a timely manner and identify opportunities for efficiency
  • Train internal stakeholders on existing and new products
  • Manage external vendor relationships i ncluding coordinating monthly payments
  • Adhere to departmental product/project management best practices
  • Work closely with internal teams to develop collaborative end-to-end processes and solutions
  • Serve as key liaison to support business development with questions, client or finalist presentations, R equest F or P roposal s
  • Translate data into trends and insights to drive product roadmaps

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Post-secondary education in business, marketing, electronic commerce or related field.
  • Work Experience: T wo to t hree years of product management experience within health, wellness or insurance industries.
  • Experience in managing digit al health product will be considered an asset.

Other Qualifications:

  • Digitally savvy with interest in digital transformation of healthcare and modernization of benefits.
  • Self-starter with a passion for improving the health and wellness of members.
  • Ability to identify emerging trends, opportunities for cost-containment and solutions to enhance benefit plans.
  • Curious and not afraid to ask questions or imagine new ways of doing things.
  • Love to learn and help others learn both one-on-one and with large audiences.
  • Confident and efficient communicator and presenter.
  • Independent thinker and work well in an agile environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
  • Strong prioritization skills with ability to balance operational tasks while also moving larger strategic projects forward.
  • Process driven. You know how to create scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Tech savvy, MS Office including developing/manipulating data and presentations, SharePoint, Trello, Tableau.
  • Language Skills: Bilingualism is considered an asset.

The role is eligible for remote locations, however periodically the Product Specialist will be requested to come to the nearest Medavie office (Moncton, Dartmouth , Etobicoke, Montreal) for meetings or other events. In person attendance with Sales executives at clients meeting may also occur.
