Department Overview
TD Securities (TDS) Finance is responsible for developing and delivering financial strategy, information and management support on a segment-wide basis for TDS, consistent with TD's enterprise risk appetite. This includes providing a wide range of analysis and decision support relating to the informational needs of the TDS business leaders and senior finance management.
The TDS Finance team plays an important strategic role for TDS, ensuring that the right metrics are developed and communicated to the businesses amid continuously evolving market environment and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
Overview: Reports to the VP, TDS Finance, primarily responsible for the Corporate & Investment Banking, incentive compensation and data and Innovation teams leading the management reporting for each of the business lines including balance sheet and client profitability and financial planning and analysis. The position acts as a primary contact to a variety of key TDS stakeholders for management reporting, advice and analysis.
Financial / Strategic:
- Oversee management reporting of monthly results for TDS Corporate & Investment Banking (C&IB) segment and work closely with FO on financial plan/forecasting
- Lead Finance partner for TDS Front Office C&IB businesses, developing/maintaining relationships and understanding business results and strategy and providing analysis as required, including performance analysis and metrics
- Oversee the RAROC model for lending
- Oversee the monthly Rev by Deal reporting
- Finance support for new products in co-ordination with other groups, including operational readiness, accounting designation and risk considerations
- Enterprise Finance Volcker Lead, overseeing the finance support function on Trading Assets & Liabilities production, Covered Funds reporting and yearly Stage 1-4 CFO attestation sign off
- Oversight over Incentive Compensation model, accounting and reporting process for TD Securities
- Lead Data Steward for TDS Finance Toronto, overseeing all Data Strategy initiatives in accordance with OCDO
- Oversee the Data & Innovation team providing value add automation/simplification processes to TD Securities Finance
People:
- Manage and develop TDS Finance employees
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders including the business and risk and control partners.
- Attract and develop talent
Job Requirements
- Identifies opportunities to enhance and improve the current managing reporting and profitability measurement frameworks and methodologies.
- Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank.
- Works closely with key business leaders and reports to optimize TDBG's resources and leverage TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale.
- Builds for the future and provide people leadership; oversee people plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain a highly diverse, qualified and engaged human resource base to fulfill current and future business needs.
- Contribute significantly to the overall reputation of TD as an excellent investment.
- Guides their team, collaborating as appropriate with TD partners, to deliver superior results in both the short and long term.
- Facilitate the annual plan process with the business
- Implementation of HR led talent planning, including development plans
Specific Educational and Professional Experience Requirements:
- University degree with a professional accounting/finance designation (i.e., CPA, CFA, CMA) or an MBA is an asset
- 10+ years' experience in Finance and/or Capital Markets in a large financial services organization
- People management experience
