Are you a creative and innovative UX Designer looking to make a significant impact? Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking a talented UX Designer to join our team. As a UX Designer in the UX team, you will be responsible for crafting visually appealing and highly functional digital experiences that align with player needs and business objectives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and prototype user interfaces, ensuring a seamless and engaging user journey.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate: Work with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define project goals and objectives.
  • User Research: Conduct interviews, usability testing to gather user feedback to guide product development.
  • Design and Prototype: Create wireframes, mockups, and user flows to visualize and communicate design concepts.
  • Standards and Guidelines: Document and develop design specifications, functional and accessibility annotations. Ensure all designs are created with adherence to WCAG 2.1 AA level.
  • Implementation: Work closely with developers, Product Managers and Content Managers during implementation to ensure design fidelity.
  • Design Systems: Maintain and grow a central repository for design library of components and guidelines to ensure a consistent user experience.
  • Presentation: Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders for feedback and approval.
  • User centered mindset: Advocate for player-centered design principles throughout the organization.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in UX Design, marketing, business, or associated field
  • 3+ years' experience as a UX Designer or in a similar role, with a portfolio showcasing your design projects.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma (preferred), Adobe XD or Sketch. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking and Web Accessibility Standards
  • Strong design foundation of color theory, typography, and composition
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.
  • Must reside in Atlantic Canada.

Professional Skills:

  • UX Design: End-to-end digital experiences from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity mockups.
  • UI & Interaction Design: Craft polished and visually appealing design components, layouts and compositions.
  • Accessibility: Ensure all designs adhere to Web Accessibility Standards 2.1 AA.
  • Environment: Be able to work in an agile development environment.
  • Documentation: Experienced in developing user flows, functional and accessibility specifications, and style guides.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • User Research: Conduct and facilitate user testing sessions, interview players and craft reports.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at collaborating with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define project goals and objectives.

Salary Band: $71,652 - $113,748 - A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $76,000 - $86,000 at the time of this posting. (Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training and internal equity).

Work Location: Office or Hybrid option working from either our Moncton or Halifax Office

  • Onboarding/Probation: Full-time in-office for the first 6 months preferred.
  • After Probation: You can choose to either continue working full-time in the office or switch to a hybrid model, coming into the office 2-3 times a week.
