As a New Home Warranty Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of issues that homeowners may experience with their newly built homes. You will be the key point of contact for homeowners during the warranty period, ensuring all warranty-related concerns are addressed promptly and efficiently. This position requires a strong knowledge of residential construction, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
- Conduct on-site inspections of new homes to identify and assess warranty issues, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing concerns pertaining to the Atlantic New Home Warranty program.
- Perform or schedule repairs on a variety of home systems, such as HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and drywall.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, ANHW standards, and company policies.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of warranty claims and service requests, including detailed reports of inspections, repairs, and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with homeowners to explain warranty processes, resolve issues, and manage expectations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and service requests.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and equipment necessary for repairs.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in home construction, materials, and repair techniques.
- Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in residential construction, home maintenance, or a related field.
- General knowledge of construction standards, and home systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Previous Customer-facing role, experience with negotiation and ability to de-escalate situations is preferred.
- Experience in general home maintenance, plumbing, electrical, interior finish work, drywall and paint is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, tools, and materials.
- Basic computer skills for entering service reports, tracking warranty claims, and communicating with team members.
