As part of the Cyber Security team, the Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for OT cybersecurity within NB Power. This role is responsible for reviewing, designing, and improving cybersecurity operational controls and processes, conducting security assessments, developing and maintaining standards for cybersecurity processes and technologies, as well as contributing to compliance activities in accordance with internal and external security directives and regulations to ensure the secure operation of NB Power's infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Analyzing new and existing systems and processes, which may include developing and maintaining standards for cybersecurity processes and technologies.
• Measuring and reporting on security initiatives and residual risk, such as conducting security assessments of new and existing systems, as well as contributing to internal and external compliance activities.
• Recommending, designing, and implementing technical and procedural improvements to reduce security risk.
The ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science OR Bachelors degree in Engineering with an applicable focus OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Three years of progressive work experience in operational technology, including work in one or more of the following disciplines: industrial control systems (ICS) engineering, OT security, OT systems audit, OT systems compliance (e.g., NERC-CIP)
• Demonstrated experience leading projects from initiation to closure
• An advanced security certification OR multiple intermediate-level security certifications OR post-secondary training in one or more of the following domains: ICS/OT security, GRC (governance, risk, and compliance), information systems audit, or the ability to obtain certification within six months of assignment
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
