In this role, you will :

  • Lead the development and optimization of ETL processes in the Azure ecosystem to facilitate seamless data flow and transformation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from different platforms, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and availability.
  • Manage end-to-end data architecture, from designing the technical architecture to implementing and testing the proposed solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into designs for reliable, secure, and scalable data solutions.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of data engineers, promoting professional development and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present technical concepts clearly.
  • Monitor data pipelines for performance and reliability, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Monitor and audit data management system performance and respond to security concerns quickly.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, testing protocols, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards to ensure data integrity and privacy.
  • Commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering, particularly within the Azure ecosystem.

What we are looking for :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. At least 8 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, including supervision of other data engineers.
  • Proficiency in languages such as Python or Scala.
  • Strong SQL knowledge.
  • Extensive experience with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks), big data technologies (e.g., Spark), and data warehousing solutions.
  • Working experience with source control systems like Git, experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Working Conditions :

  • Some travel across Canada may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
