Purpose
The Loan Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and administering complex corporate syndicated loans and letters of credit for our Toronto-based operations. This position supports both scenarios where our Bank serves as the lead Agent Bank for syndicate lenders and manages bilateral financing arrangements with customers.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Process and manage complex loan transactions through LoanIQ and other relevant platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Execute comprehensive loan servicing activities including disbursements, interest calculations, fee processing, rollovers, and maintenance of detailed loan documentation.
- Perform daily reconciliations of syndicated loan portfolios, identifying and resolving discrepancies with Agent banks promptly.
- Monitor and process instructions from Agent banks for participation portfolios across the Americas and UK regions.
- Review and analyze LoanIQ reports to identify exceptions to policies and procedures, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department while maintaining high standards of risk management and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and syndicate partners to ensure smooth loan operations.
- Contribute to team success through knowledge sharing and collaboration with colleagues.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or certification in loan documentation preferred
- Experience in corporate loan operations or syndicated loan administration
- Strong understanding of syndicated loan products, documentation, and market practices
- Knowledge of LoanIQ and loan booking systems
- Experience with risk management and regulatory compliance in banking operations
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other MS Office applications
Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role and work may include Canadian or US or UK statutory holidays. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
