Department Overview
The Global Compliance Department is responsible for overseeing Regulatory Compliance across TDBG in accordance with the Global Compliance Department Mandate, Framework and Standards. This includes independently assessing the adequacy, adherence and effectiveness of Regulatory Compliance Management(RCM) programs and controls in the business. The department also delivers objective guidance and independent challenge to the business, proactively managing regulatory change and providing trusted and reliable reporting, advice and opinion to senior leadership and the Board on the state of regulatory compliance risks, controls, and outcomes.
As part of the Corporate Functions Compliance and the Global Regulatory Change and Inventory Governance Functions Compliance (CFC) you will help support various Non- Compliance Oversight Functions (NCOFs) and Risk Owners (ROs). As a second line of defense function, your work will be focused on monitoring NCOFs and ROs adherence to the RCM Standard, representing Compliance as a Control Function in the Third Party Compliance (3PCT) and Vendor Cloud Permission to Operate (V-CPOP) processes and reporting on same to the Senior Manager. The role of the Compliance Business Oversight Analyst is to:
Support the Quality Control of all evidence collated through the delivery of RCM Program deliverables
Support the day-to-day activities associated with TD Banks Third Party Compliance (3PCT) Process
Support the OBA process
Job Details
Support the Compliance Business Oversight Manager and Senior Compliance Business Oversight Analyst to review and challenge Inherent Risk Assessments completed by Third Party Vendors, identify when a Control Assessment (CA) is required, review and approve CAs, attend contract deviations forums and risk planning sessions
Engage with Corporate Functions Compliance Portfolio Managers to support reporting on RCM activities and tracking RCM deliverables
Prepare summaries, presentations, briefing notes and any other required documentation to effectively report on RCM activities
Support the management of relationships within and across various compliance functions, corporate and/or control functions and promote alignment with the RCM Framework and Standards
Keep current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of the compliance functions, related tools and techniques.
Participate fully as a member of the Global Compliance team, support a positive work environment that promotes service, quality, innovation, teamwork and to promote timely communication of issues/points of interest.
Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within the Global Corporate Functions Compliance.
Exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality and escalating issues where appropriate.
Assist on special projects/tasks as required.
Job Requirements
Undergraduate degree designations and/or compliance certifications
3+ years of banking experience (Compliance, Risk Management, Audit preferred)
Knowledge of a regulatory compliance management program
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and capable of providing effective guidance and challenge where appropriate
Strong written, verbal, and critical thinking skills
Detail oriented with the ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Successfully worked as a member of a team, independently, remotely and in an evolving environment
Skilled in using computer applications including MS Office
