Department Overview:

The TD Bank Group Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Department is responsible for Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) regulatory compliance and prudential risk management across the TD footprint. We act as proactive and trusted advisors to TD Business Lines, while supporting a consistent, adaptable, and effective culture across the organization, ensuring money laundering and terrorist financing risks are appropriately identified and mitigated. We direct the design, content, and enterprise-wide implementation of TD's AML Program, which also includes ensuring that everyone both understands and complies with economic sanctions and anti-bribery/anti-corruption regulations. Position Overview:

The Financial Crime Risk Analyst II position is within FCRM's Enterprise Risk Assessment Team and reports directly to the Manager, Financial Crime

Risk Management. The Financial Crime Risk Analyst II is responsible for supporting the execution of an effective FCRM risk assessment program for AML/ATF, Sanctions and Anti-bribery/Anti-corruption (ABAC) and framework in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements and contributing specialized expertise towards the development, deployment, and support of the overall AML risk assessment process.

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs analysis of inherent risk data and controls to ensure risk assessments are executed in accordance with prescribed methodologies.
  • Ensures FCRM risk assessments program is effective, consistently deployed and supported, and understands risk identification, risk analysis and risk mitigation according to the regulatory requirements and best business practices.
  • Ensures policies, procedures and processes are designed and implemented to appropriately assess ML/TF risks in connection with customers, transactions, products, services, geography and other risk factors of any particular business.
  • Interacts routinely with FCRM colleagues, Enterprise Risk Assessment management and colleagues, and other management members of FCRM in the evaluation, development, deployment, and support of AML/ATF, Sanctions and ABAC risk assessment methodology.
  • Monitors AML/Sanctions industry developments and maintains knowledge of new and amended AML/Sanctions laws and regulations, particularly those pertaining to risk assessments.
  • Assists the Manager, Financial Crime Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Assessment Team with reporting responsibilities, gathering and consolidating of information/data, and developing supporting materials throughout the AML and Sanctions risk assessment processes.
  • Escalates issues/challenges by FCRM Oversight Teams and reports them in a timely manner to management.
  • Conducts periodic specialized and targeted FCRM risk assessments covering complex products, customers, and transactions.
  • Models' strong ethics, integrity, and leadership to promote a positive work environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and synergies.
  • Works independently and completes own work to defined timelines.
  • Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge/expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and FCRM.
  • Keep others informed and up to date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
  • Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities;

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience within the financial services industry in AML, Compliance, Risk Management, or Audit
  • Strong understanding of FCRM risk management, FCRM risks with respect to business lines, geographies, client types, products, services, and transactions, AML/ATF, Sanctions and ABAC legislation, regulatory expectations, internal controls, audit and similar oversight functions
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to organize and bring to order data and information, drawing conclusions and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to draft reports, procedures, presentations, and business correspondence, as well as present information and respond to questions/request for information from peers, management, business groups within and across FCRM.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and interacting with global compliance, bank operations and line of business management responsible for the execution of the TDBG's overall FCRM risk management program.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to change and take initiative to complete job requirements while balancing competing workload requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments, think critically, and complete work on time while multi-tasking between different projects.
  • Manage ambiguity, and apply judgement to identify, troubleshoot and resolve ongoing business and operational issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving and deadline-focused environment.
  • Ability to challenge and influence change.
  • Strong PC skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Power Apps).

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditation

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • ACAMS certification is an asset.
