Job Summary
The Resident Care Manager is responsible for promoting an environment which supports excellence in resident care and staff empowerment. This will be accomplished through strong leadership using a participatory management style, effective management of human and financial resources, and partnerships with internal and external services. The Resident Care Manager ensures all services provided are consistent with established long-term care standards while operationalizing the principle elements of resident-focused care and the regional and site-specific resident care programs. Specific responsibilities will include administration of resident care areas using an interdisciplinary approach; evaluation of nursing service; staff selection, development, motivation and performance appraisal; and management of change in a dynamic environment. The position is responsible for the implementation of various resident/staff related projects.
Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline is required.
Master's degree in the applicable area is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of five years progressive management experience including experience in the resident focused care philosophy is required.
Experience in geriatrics preferred.
Experience using Meditech Payroll and/or Scheduling is preferred.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric and long-term care issues.
Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills.
