About the Role

The Computer Systems Analyst II performs advanced technical work in planning, directing and co-ordinating the development of information technology systems and services. Work also includes conducting investigations into problems with existing production systems and the controlling and co-ordinating of maintenance and enhancement projects to existing systems. Research, plan, design, develop, modify, evaluate, and integrate enterprise and data center infrastructure, configuration, hardware and related equipment, as it pertains to enterprise data center systems. Analysis and consultation on production and test systems requirements, development and implementation of information systems development plans, policies and procedures, and provide advice and guidance on a wide range of advanced enterprise information technology system issues. They will perform various roles such as day to day performance monitoring and troubleshooting of deploy solutions; Continually optimize call flow design to deliver top-notch customer support experiences; Provide advanced support to the level one support team; configuration and installation of various IT infrastructure systems (i.e. email gateways, servers, storage array, backup solution, etc.), The position requires the ability to thoroughly test, analyze, configure and implement these technologies within a high-availability environment consisting of complex and multi-vendor environment, while complying with disaster recovery practices and procedures - including performance of data and configuration integrity validation to all IT infrastructure deployed.

This role is responsible for:

  • Installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non?production needs
  • Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system
  • Managing print queues and Epic printing infrastructure
  • Monitoring network and Web server activity for security breaches using intrusion detection techniques
  • Performing file system management
  • Installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster
  • recovery, training, and non?production needs
  • Installing and maintaining administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system
  • Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues
  • Assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals
  • Managing logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration
  • Applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non?production Web server components
  • Responding to emergency and after?hours issues
  • Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
  • Collaborating with your technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support
  • Writing and maintaining scripts to improve system management tasks
  • Participating in your change control process for all planned application and technical activities
  • Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity
  • Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration

Your Experience and Education:

  • Graduation from a recognized university with a Computer Science Degree, or a bachelor's degree supplemented by a recognized graduate diploma in Information Technology (minimum 1 year), or a 3-year Information Technology diploma from a recognized technical college
  • Minimum of 5 years' progressively responsible experience in enterprise IT Infrastructure in areas of Data Center, Networking and Unified Communication with focus in system design, planning, installation, and administration.
  • IT certifications in MCSE, Cloud Computing/ Dev-Ops and ITIL are considered an asset.

About You Your Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Windows server administration and Citrix XenServer and VMware ESXi.
  • Experience with hardware or software load balancing solutions such as F5 Big?IP or Citrix NetScaler.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) administration
    • Network protocols and functionality including TCP/IP, Active Directory, Domain Name Services, FTP/SCP, and HTTP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills complimented by the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and access issues.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information using excellent judgment, diplomacy, and discretion.
