Job Summary
The Regional Manager, Laboratory Medicine, Esoteric Testing is accountable to the Director of Laboratory Medicine. This position is responsible for the efficient and effective planning, directing, organizing, and evaluating the operations of Special Immunochemistry, Mass Spectrometry, Fertility and Genetics services with Eastern Health with staffing responsibilities at the Health Sciences Centre and Major Path sites. This position is responsible, with the division heads, for overseeing development and implementation of regional procedures in the following areas: Quality Control, Validations, Correlations and Equipment. This position also shares responsibility with division heads for overseeing the implementation and monitoring of Quality Assurance activities in areas of responsibility.
The position is responsible for ensuring NL Health Service policies, objectives and quality of services are maintained within the budget and human recourses allocations of the divisions identified.
Job Qualifications
Education
Baccalaureate degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Technology, or other related degree from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution.
Completion of a recognized/accredited Medical Laboratory Technology Program is required.
Certificate course in Laboratory Quality Improvement/Management considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years' experience within the last seven (7) in clinical laboratory medicine including progressive leadership experience in a clinic lab environment is required.
