Job Summary
Reporting to the Zone Director of Pharmacy Services, this position is responsible for the management and operational leadership of Pharmacy Services at the Janeway, Carbonear General Hospital as well as other Rural Avalon sites. In accordance with the Newfoundland Pharmacy Board, this position will function as the Pharmacist in Charge for the responsible site(s). The manager is responsible for the efficient and effective use of resources, as well as the quality of services provided. This position is also accountable regionally for: Occupational Health and Safety, Pharmacy Business Continuity, and clinical programs in Medicine, Pediatrics and Dialysis. The position is also responsible for participation in committee work; financial management including budgeting; participation in the development, implementation and evaluation of Pharmacy Services strategic directions and objectives as well as process improvement projects; and human resources management including performance reviews and attendance management.
Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy is required.
Master's degree in health administration, Public Administration, Business or a related field i s
preferred.
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is an asset.
Completion of a hospital residency program is an asset.
Experience A minimum of five (5) years' experience within the last seven (7) in a hospital pharmacy environment with experience with managing projects of a complex nature.
