Job Summary
The Clinical Dietitian II is responsible for the provision of nutrition care to in-patients of the Mental Health and Addictions (MH&A) Program. This includes providing nutrition assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to in-patients and patients of the Easter Disorder Continuum. As part of an interdisciplinary team, the Clinical Dietitian provides specialized nutrition care to patients diagnosed with an eating disorder and to patients diagnosed with mental illness who are at risk for nutrition issues. The Clinical Dietitian collaborates and consults with the inter-professional healthcare team, food service staff and other healthcare professionals in the provision of nutrition care. The incumbent will assist with the overall coordination of eating disorder services along the continuum of care and work collaboratively with MH&A program clinicians to support ongoing quality improvement and evaluation of program and nutrition services. Based on operational requirements, this position may provide nutrition services to other areas of the MH&A program. The Clinical Dietitian applies evidence based best practice; engages in practice related quality improvement initiatives; and contributes clinical practice expertise to and/or preceptors dietetic interns enrolled in the Eastern Health Dietetic Internship Program.
The Clinical Dietician will be responsible for actively participating in meal support programming. This includes eating snacks and meals with patients as required .
This position reports to the Program Manager for the Eating Disorder Program and maintains accountability to the Regional Professional Practice Consultant for Dietitians for integrity and professional practice issues.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent from a DC-accredited university program and successful completion of a recognized dietetic internship program accredited by Dietitians of Canada is required.
Current registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians (NLCD) is required.
Minimum of one year of experience within the last three years providing direct nutrition interventions to patients with eating disorders is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of nutrition care for patients with eating disorders is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
