The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking an individual for the Education Services - Anglophone Division as Director of Assessment and Analysis in Fredericton.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Education Services Division (Anglophone), the successful candidate will be responsible to provide advice to senior management on best practices in assessment and overseeing the quality of the assessment and evaluation programs in the province's Anglophone schools.
The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include:
Lead the Anglophone Provincial Assessment Program
- Ensure the program accurately measures and reports student performance on provincial curricular outcomes in literacy, math, and science at agreed-upon grade levels.
- Continue to evolve the program to expand the range of skills that can be assessed and to meet anticipated future system needs.
- Fulfill duties in relation to the Provincial Curriculum and Evaluation Advisory Committee.
- Oversee delivery of assessment services to private and offshore schools for which EECD has contracts through Atlantic Education International (AEI).
- Procure human and other resources, schedule, and track rollout timelines, develop messaging and comms plan, review and finalize all non-pedagogical materials.
- Meet Council of Ministers of Education Canada (CMEC) requests for information and assessment administration and keep Minister informed of PISA & PCAP results.
- Maximize collaboration and alignment with Curriculum Branch and Francophone assessment branch.
Lead the analysis, interpretation & presentation of data in support of planning, evaluation, and accountability processes.
- Oversee the delivery of annual data products (appropriateness for client, quality control, timeliness, visual appeal, and functionality) including:
- Enhancement Agreement monitoring reports for each First Nation community, district, and province.
- EYE-DA monitoring reports.
- Innovation Site and AST Initiative evaluation.
- Provide consultation, design, and logistical services to supply division and districts with appropriate data and analyses.
- Ensure communication and alignment with district data needs and collection and reporting processes, (i.e., consistent definitions and standards for majoreducational data sources and clear communication of findings).
Manage the procurement, development, and implementation of provincial surveys.
- Ensure provincial surveys meet school needs, result in data for tracking provincial measures, are delivered efficiently with the least effort required of schools, and accurate results are provided in a timely manner. Provide consultation on design, implementation, data analyses, and reports/presentations for ad hoc survey requests.
Ensure timely tracking and reporting on LTR, Collective Priority, ED Plan, & Other Measures (district, other ESD branches).
- Ensure measures are clearly defined, data collection occurs on time, and results are updated in the designated summary documents/platforms as they become available.
Power-School Business Owner:
- Collaborate with Data and Accountability Supervisors (DAS) and other partners to proactively upgrade and monitor priority functionality and data in PS in accordance with data standards.
Human Resources Management:
- Managing a team of roughly 20 professional and administrative direct reports.
- Coaching and mentoring staff, distributing work assignments, managing expectations, and establishing priorities.
- Conducting ongoing and annual performance reviews, identifying key performance measures, providing clear and direct feedback, addressing conflicts and performance issues, and assisting with workload organization and priorities.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have:
- Master's degree in Education or a related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of related experience, including three (3) years of management experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Wage:
Pay Band 8: $108,030 ¿ $121,680 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
