The Department of Justice and Public Safety is seeking individuals to fill existing and future permanent and permanent part-time Correctional Officer vacancies in New Brunswick Provincial Correctional Centers, located in Miramichi, Saint John, Shediac, St-Hilaire, and Dalhousie.
What you will do
As a Peace Officer and member of the Correction Officers team, the successful candidates will be responsible for the custody and supervision of offenders, enforcing provincial and institutional policies and procedures, preparing incident reports and participating in the development and delivery of offender programs and case management. The use of a computerized system is an integral part of the daily activities.

Need to have
- Successful completion of post-secondary education relating to Corrections, Social Sciences, Law Enforcement/Policing or a related field. OR a High School diploma and 4 years of work experience.
- Candidates must possess and present a valid NB Driver's license, a current Driver's Abstract, a valid First Aid certificate, and a valid Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation certificate. Certificates of successful completion with regard to these requirements must accompany your resume.
- Successful candidates will undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check.
- Candidates will be required to complete the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 questionnaire and, if not previously completed, candidates will be required to attend the New Brunswick Correctional Services Academy Training.
- NOTE: Candidates must have completed the NBCSA academy to be eligible to apply on this competition.

Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English only. Please state your language capability.

Wage
from $28.39 to $34.51 per hour
